**The Global Game Jam®** (GGJ) is a 501(c)(3) **non-profit** registered in the state of California dedicated to empowering individuals worldwide to explore game development. It hosts the world's largest 48-hour game creation event annually, attracting tens of thousands of participants from over 100 countries to collaborate, innovate, and create games based on a secret theme revealed at the start, fostering a vibrant global community in a safe and welcoming environment.
